Our R55 High Resolution coaxial interconnect cable,
has been developed to satisfy car and home
audio-video enthusiasts by offering an affordable,
high quality cable that features double shielded
construction. The large central multi-stranded 20
gauge oxygen-free copper conductor of R55 is
surrounded by a low-loss polyethylene foam
dielectric to provide very low capacitance
(20 pF/feet) and the exacting impedance
characteristics needed for maximize bandwidth and
accurate signal transfer. The high density tinned
braided copper shield, and aluminum Mylar foil
shield, protect the signal within the cable from the
influence of magnetic fields. The Mylar foil shield
provides 100% coverage of the cable, providing very
effective high-frequency protection. The
braided-copper shield is constructed to enhance low
frequency protection, and ensures 95% coverage of
the cable surface. It protects the more brittle
Mylar foil from cracking, and increases the
flexing-life of the entire cable.The internal
geometry of R55 makes it a perfect choice in a wide
sphere of applications: composite digital video with
audio signal, analog audio and component video. The
6.0 mm PVC outer transparent jacket provides both
flexibility and mechanical protection. The cable is
terminated in gold-plated, split-center-pin RCA
plugs with a six-cut outer shield. The R55 cables
are developed for several applications in home
theatre and car audio/video installations.
